Design in Wood
Minor abroad at the NTNU in Norway
During my Bachelor’s at the TU Delft I went to Norway for my Minor. I did multiple design courses at the NTNU. One of them was Design in Wood. During this course I learned a lot about more practical skills and woodworking. In my current projects I realise how valuable it is to have these skills.
During the course we had to build small models and 1:1 models as well. We had to built a staircase and went multiple times to a staircase builders to learn about how to design a stair.
I learned how to use all the machines in the woodwork place and after the course I used those a lot for my own projects.
Our staircase was designed with the idea of a stand alone item in a house. We focused on simplicity and showing the structure. The pictures below show the different models we made of our final design.
