Clean way

Air pollution is a major issue in many countries and can have negative effect on people’s health. Most people however do not know they can avoid a lot of pollution by taking a different route, especially people who already suffer from asthma or other respiratory diseases. In this project we wanted to allow people to easily find and take a clean route to their destination.

Interaction and Electronics - CLEAN WAY

Group project during the bachelor Industrial design TU delft

The project was a group project together with 5 students. We started with reading into the subject of asthma and doing user research. The user research consisted of surveys, creating personas, scenarios and a design vision. The research was context orientated. My part in this phase was mainly focused on the visualisation.

After this we came up with the solution of Clean Way. Clean Way measures different kinds of variables, regarding the air, which could have impact on people with some form of asthma and warn them if necessary. Clean Way consists of a device which measures the pollution in the air, a mobile phone application that is connected with the measuring device and an online platform that connects all global users sharing pollution information. This platform creates a global up to date chart for air pollution.

The input prototype is created with Axure. The output prototype is made with Arduino.

Presenting the interactions

Furthermore, we made task flows of the interactions of the app developed all the pages in Axure. I designed the interfaces in Photoshop and uploaded them in Axure to make them interactive. Finally I made the final presentation of the concept by a short movie.
